Question On LIS PENDENS

corbint profile photo

As I peruse the Lis Pendens documents filed with my county clerk, how can I tell which ones are leading to foreclosure versus those that are just filed for other reasons? Are there any specific terms like "enforce mortgage lien" or other terms that I can key on to ensure Im looking for the right types of docs?

You might check on MI foreclosure law to see what documents may be useful. Here the first indication is a Notice Of Default which is the first step in a non-judicial foreclosure. In CA these are specific to the foreclosure process, whereas, Lis Pendens can be almost anything.
