Where should TCI's annual conference be?
This past week my wife and I traveled to the city where we are thinking of having our first TCI Annual Conference. We are in the process of finalizing our decisions about where it should be, but we want YOUR voice in our decision making.
I told my wife "You know, I kinda like going to nice places with stuff to do so you can write your vacation off as a business expense."

hell if i know. i say vegas is good but not great. cheap overall trip (can't beat the $4.99 dinner buffet at Circus Circus, hahaha) but i feel like it'll almost be a distraction to some if not most. wayyyy too much livin goin on. ditto for NY on "wayyy too much livin ..." but not even comparable in costs. NY is ridiculously high for hotels and a cold beer at a sports bar will run you $9, unless we do the outskirts of the city.
i think we need somewhere almost non-existant to the frequent traveler, we could steal rates in a hotel from rooms to conference rooms. we'd be helping commerce in the city as well as enlightening a few people there. somewhere very cheap to fly into is Cleveland, Akron or Canton (all in Ohio). who'd have thought of that?! middle america, aka "the armpit of the midwest" as i've heard it referred to before.
I'll second that.....although I am biased. Heck, I'll rent out some rooms to the conference goers!
I live in Vegas and it can't be beat as far as anything goes. Good food, good shops, great times. Make sure you post the time and place so that the whole site will show up.
I just returned from a trade show for my day job. It was in Las Vegas.
I did not book my trip until 7 days before and was still able to get a cheap flight and hotel room.
For those who want something nice Vegas has no shortage of great rooms.
So recomend Las Vegas!

is the place. Rooms are plentyfull and cheap. Food is cheap. Service is good and very friendly.

Las Vegas.
You say you want more???? Try your luck at the slots and/or tables. I can provide you with a list of recommended pawn shops.
We go to Vegas almost monthly and as Sammy stated the place can't be beat.

This probably will be a minority view but what the heck.
I live right next to a resort area so Las Vegas would not be some where I would want to go for the meeting.
I also was a pro gambler for years until the casinos found out how we were making our money.
So the thought of the bing ding cling sounds of the slot machines has my skin crawling already. LOL
I guess I could go out to the desert when there are no meetings but in all honesty I probably wouldn't make the trip.
Like I say just one guys input.

Ski Resorts, Clubs, whatever you like... and its a major hub and wont be to steep to fly in either!!

For all the reasons above and more! (We just got another 24" of fresh snow at the ski resorts!)
There is a lot of convention space and contrary to poular belief, there are a lot of good night spots.

How about New York City? Lots to do. Something for everyone. Even if you just want to see the sights, it's a beautiful place to visit.
Being a native New Yorker, I love it. However, to be honest anywhere it is, I will be there since I am going to learn from other investors. So for me, Vegas or New York or Houston will do.

May I draw your attention to the jewel in the crown of California.

This semi city is a melting pot of cultlural and ethnic mixing. It is here in this seething slum that the true interplay of race,creed,economic position and religions has truly impacted causing a present time condition that has not been seen since the edific that towered in storied Babylon.
We have it all. An ongoing attempts to artificialy creat an artistic colony without addressing the problem of cheap housing for the artists. We have a miraze of restaurants so indifferent that Chez Denny's stands out like a four star hotel in downtown Bagdad.
Our drug trade while not excessive is present and on Magnolia Blvd. you can buy almost anything that is addictive. Our language is now in creation and is in essence a mix of SpanEnglish flavored with Gullah and Valley Girl Talk. On a visit to the Seven Eleven I had to give at least three gang signs and converse in several languages varying from Albanian (Greg) dialect to Arabic (West) dialect. Of course Hmong and the standard subdub dialects of Cantonese. The nine tones echoing nicely as background to the wailing of Zen practitioners in the parking lot.

This might be the perfect meeting place, there is no other place in the world where so much dirt er Real Estate is being transferred in transactions so weird that even I am left mouth agape and confused. A Pink Slip in lieu of a DownPayment. A Trust Deed recorded on a single page including the Notary Jurat. The standard 15 page offer form, now reduced to even smaller type but squeezed to 8 pages. Even that reduced to a single letter size offer form with two paragraphs. I thought I had gone back to 1848 when Calif became part of the US, but not yet a state. My those were the days. This would truly be a learning experience a true look into the future of the Americas. You might like to attend the meeting scheduled for tomorrow night it is a movement to join Mexico and the United States. Being a little unsatisfied at the present direction of the Government, I am attending and lobbying for Mexico to furnish the future governmental functions. At least the bribes would be reduced to an amount that we the street people could handle.

In view of the complete rejection of my sponsorship of Beautiful Downtown North Hollywood, I would like to change my vote to Los Vegas. I still have some chips left from my last visit and of course the pawn ticket to redeam. I was married there once, which one I cannot remember but it was a fun time. The bridesmaids did a strip that was sensational. And a real Dish ran away with a Goon, he said he was a security guard.
